Travis “Lobster Man” Grothe – Bass Guitar, Vocals.
Travis was not conceived in the deep blue sea, nor
were his parents lobsters. In fact Travis started out his life just like
you and me; only slightly different, he was born a month premature and
had bleeding in his brain. Luckily Travis pulled through and continued
with life in a somewhat normal way. Travis has always had an acute appreciation
and respect for music, growing up listening to the Grateful Dead and other
older rock bands. Travis decided to pick up playing bass as a hobby, and
playing along with whatever tunes were on the radio. In high school he
got his first taste of playing in several bands like Cosmos Mariner and
Circle 3. Travis met Will shortly after and began an exciting relationship
writing music; in a new band with Will that they called Cosmic Gear Box.
Travis now spends most of his time trying to earn a living as a real estate
agent, while still fulfilling his dream as a successful bassist. He wants
to flood the world with C.G.B.'s music for an endless sea of people. Travis'
favorite quote is “Everything that is, is once the potential of what was,” stated
by Ludwig Von Mises. He wishes every one a good life full of their deepest
desires. Travis plays Cort and Fender Bass guitars, and uses a Crate amplifier.

Will “Bootz” Hallowell– Vocals, Acoustic & Electric – Rhythm & Lead Guitars
Sir William was born of noble birth by loving parents
of the direct descendants of a class of knights known as ‘The Champions
of England'. Will was born overseas on a small little Japanese island
called Okinawa, in the not so distant past. He then fled the country
with a band of mobsters known as the Dragon-Shrimp Mafia close on his
heels to his new home in Soham, Cambridgeshire, England. This is where
he began his appreciation for music and poetry in a little town in the
English countryside while helping raise six other siblings begot by his
parents. Will moved to the U.S. of A in 1989 and grabbed his first guitar
from a pawn shop window, with his mother telling him it would just sit
at home collecting dust. Will proved them wrong by teaching himself how
to play the guitar and strumming away with his baby everyday. Playing
a lot of music with the Healy brothers and starting such bands as the
Acoustic Blueberries to Cactus Jupiter. Finally creating music and lyrics
for his newly formed band of misfits in Cosmic Gear Box. When asked by
the local sound authority about his thoughts on music, Will replied, “Music
is like an extremely addictive drug, it's the one thing I can never give
up, in fact I'll probably be buried with my guitar.” Will has many favorite
bands such as the Grateful Dead, Phish, Ween, and Tom Petty and wants
his fans to enjoy music the way he does. Will plays Alvarez and Ibanez
guitars.

Scott “Skins” Hart– Drums, Various Percussion, & the Triangle!
Born in a barn in Alpine Texas, Scott's drum career
began on the kitchen floor at the tender age of three, with spoons and
metal pans; bringing new meaning to the phrase “Mom's got a headache.” After
moving from Texas to Littleton, Colorado, he got his first real drum at
the age of ten - dragging it up the hill to Goddard Middle School every
day for band practice. Scott's first drum set (basically made of reinforced
balsawood and including one cymbal) started him off on his self-taught
rock-n-roll drum journey. A music major in college for all of one year,
he realized that the style of drums he wanted to play was not taught in
any school. Playing along with the albums of such bands as Pink Floyd,
Led Zeppelin, Steely Dan, and basically any rock or blues song playing
on the radio, he learned the different styles now on display with Cosmic
Gear Box. Scott has played in several original and cover bands in Colorado
and Texas. Scott's current equipment includes Sonor Hi-Lite bass/toms,
Gretsch birch snare drum, Zildjian cymbals, and Vic Firth sticks.

Tyler “The Barracuda” Brainard – Vocals, Acoustic & Electric – Rhythm & Lead Guitars
“I was born a poor black child without any clothes; until my mama put some on me.” But seriously, what are the chances of both guitarists in the group being born and raised in Japan , moving to and living in practically the same ‘hood, and then ending up playing in the same band? We really can't say; but let us tell you, dear and constant reader, the fact of the matter is that it most certainly took place. Tyler has been playing music and singing in choirs for most of his waking life. “Music is like ear candy; I just can't chew ‘nuff, sho ‘nuff,” says Tyler . Mr. Brainard has played in numerous bands over the years and is open to many styles of music. Tyler states that this is by far the most comfortable group of musicians he has ever played with and feels he can truly express himself in the gear box. Barracuda and Bootz have known each other for quite some time and they both realized they shared a special and unique interest in music. “We both play instruments and write our own songs, but for some reason we never really got together to do any real pickin'.” One day they happened to do exactly that, when suddenly everything just clicked; during the same time that Cosmic Gear Box was looking for a new guitarist. The rest folks is merely just history, with many chapters still to be written. Tyler uses and plays: any instrument that's handed to him, as long as it sings a pretty tune. Tyler has made great strides in the music industry and is well known (in local jam circles) for his invention of the ‘H' chord. Did we mention he plays in 3-D? Rumor has it, that the image on the front cover of CGB's second demo album ‘Come Along With CGB' is actually a picture of Tyler 's ugly mug? We may never know.
Brian “Loud Puppy” McCune – Manager
Brian is our good friend, Manager, Lobster Prop, and Videographer. Mr. McCune is also president of Sweet Revelation Films and A Damit Drex Production. Loud Puppy is an irreplaceable member of the Cosmic Gear Box “team” because he lends us his ears and provides us with moral support. “These guys are my best friends. They allow me to hang out with them during their practices and let me help load and unload the equipment for gigs. I may be a roadie/ manager, but I am on this website and I get to listen to loud, grooving music while filming all of their shows for posterity (every show is archived “bootleg” style by Dammit Drex Productions). I have learned a lot from CGB and look forward to losing the rest of my hearing in the years to come.”
